"God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation. So now Jesus and the ones he makes holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters.” (Hebrews 10:10-11)

G’Day Open Road,

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads for last weekend! I hope that you were able to connect with or celebrate a father on Sunday.

For those who gathered on Sunday, we heard a testimony of faith from one of our oldest Fathers, John. And read from Hebrews to be reminded that through Jesus’ loving, sacrificial death, all of us can share the same heavenly father with Jesus!

Especially for those who’ve lost, or lost connection with, their earthly father this is of great comfort. However, it’s not a mere sentimental offering from God. Rather, Jesus was sent from heaven to preserve us from death, evil and an eternity outside of God’s family.

While on Father’s Day we honour the Dad's around us, it’s an annual reminder that Jesus’ heavenly rescue mission from spiritual orphans into brothers and sisters with Christ, united under the eternal love of a good, good, Heavenly Father.

For those who were unable to join us for communion on Sunday, I’d encourage you to find time in the coming week to take communion alone, with another Christian, or….hit REPLY and ask me to come join you 🙂

There’s no better use of our time together than celebrating that through Jesus, we have a new Father.

Cheers, God Bless and see you soon!

Dan
