Ahoy Church,
As all those who joined us on sunday heard from Sue, reading through the book of Hebrews is deepening the faith of many!
For some like Sue, it’s a powerful sense of awe at the majesty and presence of God. For others it’s understanding where Jesus stands in transforming human history. For those who are totally new to Jesus it’s becoming aware of the depth of God’s love for us and the lengths that love was willing to go to rescue us from our sin!
I want to encourage you to take seriously the invitation to read the book of Hebrews this month. If you’re new to Hebrews or the Bible, why not explore the themes via the Bible Projects resources on Hebrews.
Remember, raeding the Bible isn’t just for “crazy Christians” or “Bible Geeks”. As a church we believe that every follower of Jesus becomes Fully Alive as they each Get to KNOW Jesus, INVITE others into their life and GATHER to encourage each other.
This week, get to KNOW Jesus more through reading or listening to Hebrews. When you turn up on Sunday for Hope’s baptism (yay!), you may even want to share how your faith is deepened like Sue did last Sunday.
Then, if you’re really want to be a “crazy Christian”, you can ask God to show you how to love someone in your life like he loves them and you. You never know what might happen!
As I shared at our last worship gathering, “We’re as Christlike as we’re willing to become”. If we really want to know and follow Jesus, then let’s take time each week to truly deepen our understand of who is, what he’s done and the life he’s calling us into!
