In a church that aims to be hyper-focused on Jesus, it's amazing that I still feel compelled to slow myself and our church family down to "remember" Jesus.
Despite the commercialisation and selfishness Christmas can evoke around us, like communion, Christmas is a wonderful tradition that invites us to recentre our lives around the person, promises and presence of Jesus Christ.
Pay attention to the lyrics in the carols this year. They are amazing.
Put thought (and why not prayer!) into the gifts you give this year. Gift-giving is powerful. It reminds us that not only is Jesus God's gift to us, but that like the wise men, we also can give precious gifts (our lives, our worship) to Jesus as well.
Most of all, may you slow down enough not just to remember Jesus, but to know his presence with you. After all, that's why God sent him, to very literally be, "God with us"

Christmas Day Gathering - 9 am
Join us 9AM Sunday 24th Dec as we remember Jesus, God with us. We'll sing some Carols, pray, and hear the Christmas Story - the greatest story there has ever been.
New Years Eve Gathering - 9 am
Again, we will meet from 9AM on Sunday 31st Dec and hear (at least) three stories of what God has done in the lives of people in our church family. If God has answered prayer or revealed himself in the Bible or any other way, please come ready to share a brief encouragement!
