I hope your week has been as good as the weather! Coming up, this Sunday friends are visiting us from North Africa! Next Sunday the 4th of August is our monthly worship night at the Caloundra CCSA Hall.

We will trial gathering in this hall for worship on Sunday, August 4th from 3 pm.

I have a quick question for you. What part of our church is thriving spiritually?

While it's not a competition I'd say that our youth and young adults are visible, consistently experiencing a season of spiritual "fruit". As I have thought about the youth, I realised there are some unique activities they are enthusiastically participating in.

Many gather with us on Sunday and spend time together, often sharing stories during Good-or-God. Many more come together on Friday nights to gather again to study the Bible, laugh, play, worship and serve other youth from the community!

During the week a bunch gather at Mariela and Marcello's house, while others join other Christian friends to study the Bible, pray and enjoy getting to know each other well. Beyond one night of the week, many actively encourage each other (sometimes daily) to read the Bible daily and take Jesus' call to obedience seriously in their personal and private lives!

The more I thought about it, the clearer it became. Many of our youth and young adults are just doing what Jesus asked them. The youth are taking seriously what our church (especially us adults!) has said we would all do. They are living out our rhythms of Knowing Jesus, Inviting others into our lives and Gathering to encourage each other!

This week I shared these rhythms with a Jesus-follower who has just moved to the coast. His passion in life has been to pioneer small churches for marginalised people (homeless, addicted, traumatised etc) with a group called Empowered Faith Communities (EFC). One day I hope you meet him and hear his story. After sharing our above rhythms I asked him, "What do you think happens in the life of someone who is living out all three rhythms?" He immediately said, "Revival".

"What do you think happens in the life of someone who is living out all three rhythms? Revival".

He's right. This is why most weeks at Open Road we encourage you to not just "turn up" on Sunday but to learn rhythms of life that lead every one of us into revival - being "fully alive" in Jesus Christ, bearing spiritual fruit that is more valuable than any other asset, gift or success.

May God's work in our youth inspire us all.

Cheers and see you Sunday!

Dan

Visitor from North Africa

We have friends visiting us from Africa on Sunday to offer a few stories of sharing Jesus with people who may never have heard of him before! Martine and I are long-term family friends with them and, if you feel God's leading, would encourage you to view how you can partner in financial support.

Because of the security issues in his part of the world, if you would like to hear more about his story, ministry and prayer needs please chat with him on Sunday or email VisionNA1@proton.me!

Colombian House has been purchased!

Many of you will remember that our church and several individuals contributed to purchasing a ministry house in Colombia. Aaron and Angela Bullock, who led the fundraising for the project, have just returned to the Sunny Coast and regularly join us on the beach at Moffat! Ang shares how this house will bless the locals below:

"Obtaining this house will provide a safe place for kids to play and we will be able to run different programs out of it like Alpha and hopefully get some computers to teach kids the skills of resume writing and things like that. We are now in the process of getting quotes as the house needs major renovations. This will be a blessing to the community to have this safe space." - Ang Bullock

Click below to watch their video update on the completion of this project. Due to the challenges of funding and purchasing the property, it has only now been finalised! For more info, reach out to Aaron or Ang via Facebook or on a Sunday 😄
