Open Road welcomes all people to all our public gatherings. Watch this video first to understand
So what's membership about?!
In 2022 Open Road became a formal, legal church entity within the QLD Baptist movement. As an autonomous Baptist church, it is normal and necessary to have a formal membership so that their voice and vote can contribute to the future purpose, activities and finances of the church.
Formal members have a voice and a vote in our AGM (Annual General Meeting) and all other special meetings regarding our purposes, activities and financial giving (giving to those in need, any large purchases etc.). Those who want to contribute to our church in this way are welcome to apply for membership.
Given the legal nature of membership, Open Road's Constitution (see below) encourages applications for membership to anyone who:
- Supports the purposes (section 4) of the church
- Believes in our Doctrinal Statement (section 5)
- Is baptised according to the Doctrinal Statement (section 5). NOTE: We are open to almost all forms of baptism :)
- Agrees to be bound by this constitution
It's important to reiterate that membership is not required to attend any of our regular gatherings. Rather, it is a normal and necessary part of being a legally constituted autonomous Baptist church.
