G'Day All,
I often speak about INVITING people into our lives as a foundational part of following Jesus. One of the joys of inviting people into your life is how often you are surprised by how many wonderful people you're surrounded by!
As Martine and I returned from the Qld Baptist conference on the Gold Coast I realised how blessed we were to have so many from our beach church involved in, serving and leading the church movement we are a part of. Many within our church have led, pastored and served locally and beyond, but below are the ones currently leading within QLD Baptist.
Andrew and Anne Grant have recently joined us. Andrew is the Director of QB’s Camping Ministry, which entails ministry leadership and discipleship with the largest provider of Outdoor Education in Queensland.
Sal and her family have been with us for a while now. Sal is a registered Baptist pastor and is currently on maternity leave from her role overseeing Qld Baptist Kids and Family ministry statewide!
Sheryl Lanham, currently away with family, is the Chair of Baplink Management Council (BMC), our denomination's financial services arm that meets the needs of ministry far and wide. Paul Lanham, one of our elders, is married to Sheryl and has served, led, pastored and preached for several Baptist churches himself.
May you be encouraged by their ministry, and take time to encourage them as they seek to serve the community far and wide!
Practical Tips!
Given we are outdoors without amplification (though Gary + Julie have an experimental option for us!), we still have challenges hearing some of you as you share Good-or-God, pray or share a word from God.
So, when you share (please keep sharing!) could you make sure you stand up and speak louder than you think you need to 😄. If it's easy enough, stand where I usually preach from (the milk crates!). Or, like Lilly did so well last week, at least stand in the middle of us somehow to minimise the distance between you and those on the fringe 😄
Tip: Stand in the middle, speak loud!

Prayer!
Prayer is a gift for every Christian to discover! As we all get to know each other better, I'm increasingly aware that every week there are things in our lives we need prayer for!

This week, in our "Good or God" time, I'd love us to buddy up and share things we would like prayer for (only share what you're comfortable with) and then if any of us would like the church to pray then and there, we can share and pray together!
Of course, if you're busting to share a "Good or God" story we'll make time for it 😄.
We want to develop a natural habit of praying for the needs in our lives and those around us!

If you want to know how we get access to everything that Jesus promises, this song (recommended by Dan Hill - thanks mate!) outlines that it's only possible through the blood of Jesus Christ. It may sound archaic, unnecessary and primal, but it is the foundational message of Jesus himself.
