It was great to gather at 4pm last Sunday and enjoy the beautiful, though quite noisy, afternoon beach vibes.
This Sunday 5th of November we are gathering from 4pm at City Life Baptist Church for our monthly worship gathering. For those who are able, please bring something simple to share for an early dinner.
After a time of connecting, we will share a meal followed by communion and worship and an opportunity for anyone who wants prayer or to be prayed for. I'm quite confident that many of us have needs in our own lives and beyond that we can ask others to pray for!

Elders, Membership and our first AGM
Many of you were a part of the early days of simple gatherings on the beach. While we hope to always keep that welcoming, informal heart we started with, at the end of 2022 we made the decision to formally join the Qld Baptist group of autonomous churches.
Part of this decision means that we are a legal entity, governed by a constitution and directed by our members.
If you consider yourself part of our church and are keen to formally contribute to its future, then you are welcome to apply to become a member!
It's important to say that you are not required to be a member to attend any of our gatherings. It's simply a normal and necessary part of being an autonomous Baptist church. So no one is under any obligation to become a member and we will remain as we are - welcoming to people of all backgrounds.
Aside from the legal requirements for membership, it's important to put flesh on what this looks like. It will come as no surprise to anyone that I believe it looks like our simple rhythms, "Knowing Jesus, Inviting people into our lives and Gathering and getting involved" :) These simple rhythms encapsulate what we've decided are most important to us as a family of Jesus-followers.
For those who choose to become members, we will conduct a simple AGM on Sunday Dec 3rd at the end of our time of monthly worship.
One of the key points of discussion will be our Leadership Teams recommendations for three elders - myself and two others. We have been praying about these appointments for most of the year and I want to express my deep gratitude for not only your prayers for wisdom but also for your patience.
Small decisions like this echo for many years to come. This is why we took our sweet time and are keen to seek the affirmation of these new elders from all our church members at our very first AGM (Annual General Meeting).

QLD Baptist State Youth Camp - Jan 15th to 18th 2023
Registrations for next years SYC (State Youth Camp) close on Nov 5th so we encourage anyone with high schoolers to register ASAP. It's a fun-filled, God-focused, positive few nights for all attending.
Our youth will be camping this year, so if you have a tent that's suitable to share...let us know!
The theme is DISCIPLE and I know the guest speakers who pastor a similar-hearted church on the Gold Coast, Living Temple.
2022's camp had an incredibly positive impact on 30 of our Coastal Youth crew and I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
