Last Sunday was huge!
Not only did we explore Jesus' call to courageous compassion for others, but quite a number of people shared how they are following his lead out into the world!
A House Church for Marcello + Mariela!
March and Mariela shared their growing heart to see a home-church startup in their home on Sunday mornings. They trialled it last Sunday morning with a small group of families/couples they've known for some time and all agreed to continue and see what God has in store!
Given the fact that on that Sunday we were engaging with Jesus' command to, "Pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest", it was exciting to send out these two couples with prayer and a blessing.
A value that Marcello and Mariela share with myself and Open Road is that we aren't trying to "grow" our church, expand an "empire" or even just "plant churches" (Christianese for starting a new church). Rather, we are all committed to simply "making disciples" by helping people find and follow Jesus.
Goodbye to the Baker Family
Caleb, Esther and family shared how they are heading to Normanton to assist a wonderful school up there! Pray for them, their trip their ministry and their family life!
As Dan Hill has often reminded me, our vision is not to grow a team of volunteers for our church, but to help all of us be Fully Alive in the ways God has uniquely made us for this world.
Caleb and Esther, thanks for being a great example of what it looks like to be "Fully Alive" in Jesus.
Congrats to Tim Rushbrook and his family
Also, on a similar note, Tim Rushboork (married to Christina, dad to Levi, Jireh and Lucah) graduates this week from Malyon Theological College. Martine and I have both studied there and can attest to the fact that it's a challenge - especially amidst parenting life! Well done guys.
Giving Kitty Update
This week we've been able to continue giving to some local needs and we can update you more at our upcoming worship gathering.
Cheers, God Bless and see you Sunday to worship God and encourage each!

Jesus: Ask God to Send People on Mission
““The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.”
- Matthew 9:37-38
Last week we looked at Jesus' command to ask God to send people on mission. It's part prayer, part purpose and part compassion! This week we aren't do a command of Jesus as we are taking time to remember and worship him together!
